OHFA offers waiting list preferences to individuals and families who are homeless or who are experiencing a mental or physical disability.

OHFA offers a preference to individuals and families who are homeless. This includes those who have been displaced by a major disaster as declared by the President of the United States..
Victims of domestic violence, dating violence or stalking displaced as a result of fleeing violence in the home will be included in the homeless definition if the following conditions under certain conditions.
DISABILITY PREFERENCE
OHFA offers a local preference for a person with disabilities. This means if you or a family member meets one of the definitions, you may be eligible and will be placed on the waiting list ahead of applicants who are not disabled.
Disability is defined as an inability to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment.

Landlords in the Housing Choice Voucher program provide families with a healthy, safe and affordable place to live. Units must pass Housing Quality Standards and be maintained as long as the owner receives housing assistance payments. The landlord is expected to provide the services agreed to as part of the lease signed with the tenant and the contract signed with OHFA.

VIRTUAL INSPECTIONS
OHFA currently offers Virtual Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections for new units due to Coronavirus safety concerns. To prepare for an inspection, landlords should do the following:
- Create and manage your property owner account.
- Once an inspection has been scheduled, we'll check to see if you'd like a virtual inspection.
- Prepare for virtual inspections by ensuring a video app has been installed on your smartphone, 移动PC, 或平板电脑.
- Test the app to ensure the video and audio are working.
- Ensure your unit will pass HQS inspection.
- Wait for our call.
